My seventeen-year-old son, Aaron, completely shaved his head to support his girlfriend while she was battling cancer.
The very next day, her mother called me and said:

My son Aaron has always been one of the most compassionate people I know.
He is seventeen years old, does well in school, stays out of trouble, and has always been the kind of person who notices when someone else is in pain. 🌟
Eventually, he began dating Lily, the daughter of one of my closest friends.
I was genuinely happy for them.
They were a wonderful couple, and the love between them was obvious to everyone around them. 💕
But a few months ago, everything suddenly changed.
Lily was diagnosed with cancer. 💔
One moment, they were talking about college, weekend plans, and the future they imagined for themselves.
Then suddenly, Lily was spending much of her time traveling back and forth to hospitals and enduring painful treatments.
It was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her.
But I think it was especially difficult for Aaron.
I could see the pain in his eyes whenever he looked at the girl he loved, knowing she was suffering while he could do almost nothing to make it stop.
Still, he refused to leave her side.
Whenever he could, he went to visit her. 🚗

And sometimes, he simply sat beside her in silence for hours.
As the weeks passed, the treatment began to take a serious toll on Lily.
Like many people going through cancer treatment, she began losing her hair.
She tried to remain strong and act as if it didn’t bother her.
But everyone close to her could see how deeply it affected her. 💧

I was completely stunned.
I immediately asked him why he had done it.
His answer was simple.
He told me he wanted Lily to understand that her beauty had never depended on her hair.

I was speechless.
And honestly, I don’t think I had ever felt prouder of my son.
